General Oldskool compo rules
- Entries in oldskool competitions must adhere to Oldskool platform rules.
- IMPORTANT: All non-PC entries need to be submitted to PTN with their respective name, credit, platform information AND delivered with a physical media (floppy, etc.).
- We will NOT accept any non-PC entries that are not in both PTN and on physical media. No exceptions.
- For modern PC-runnable entries (emulators not included!), such as deluxepaint images, one PTN submission is enough.
- The PTN submission must be an Internet-distributable version of the competition entry (see competition rules for details). However, in the competition, the entry must run on real hardware.
Oldskool music competition
- The tune must be an executable file or it must be playable with the platform. Check the platforms rules. You can also deliver the music as a Protracker MOD module.
- The song is played 3½ minutes on the big screen. It may be longer though.
- A MP3 or OGG version of the entry must be supplied to PTN for distribution in the Internet (e.g. using audio signal capture). The bit rate has to be 160 kbps or higher. If you are making a MOD, the MP3 / OGG version is not needed.
Oldskool graphics competition
- The picture must be an executable file or it must be showable on supported platforms or with the computer you are bringing with you. Check the platforms rules.
- A PNG or TIFF version of the entry must be supplied to PTN for distribution in the Internet (e.g. using video signal capture).
Oldskool demo competition
- Maximum size is 4 MB.
- Maximum showing time is 5 minutes; the demo itself can be longer.
- Coding your demos in such a manner that it doesn't require interaction is highly recommended.
- Supply a version of the entry for emulator use.
